Did the United States have probable cause to invade Iraq?

Post by gregdavidson »

The Iraq War has ruined countless lives and has sent the economic situation of the United States down the drain. Most people are saying that Bush has rid the world of terrorism and has made this country a safer place. What most people don't realize is whether or not we had the right to invade Iraq in the first place. The whole idea of Iraq having weapons of mass destruction was a complete lie. Despite the fact that Sadaam Hussein was an evil person, there are plenty of other countries in this world who are run by vicious dictators but still does not give us the right to invade those countries. Do you think the U.S. had the right to invade Iraq?

I heard something on the radio. Colin Powell compared the situation in Iraq to Pottery Barn - " If you break it you own it". I thought I was going to throw up when I heard those words. I can't believe there are actually people who think that Iraq is our responsibility to protect or that we own them.

There were obviously countries with much worse dictators than Saddam and countries who had much more military capability and had just as much if not more desire to attack the United States.

I believe the Americans who supported the war did it mostly under false pretenses: They were lead to believe that Iraq had a much stronger military capability than it did. They were lead to believe in the myth that Saddam was directly involved in 9/11. They were also told that the Iraqi people would greet the U.S. as liberators.

As a result, they let their government go to war in Iraq. I believe the war and occupation of Iraq has made the United States less safe by using its defense resources and by increasing anti-Americanism. The war in Iraq has also killed more Americans than 9/11.

Unfortunately, the people in power, who make the decisions in governments like the United States, will continue to make such devastating decisions. The war in Iraq will end up costing U.S. taxpayers trillions of dollars. That is trillions of dollars in revenue for politicians, bureaucrats and special interest groups, namely Big Oil and the military-industrial complex.

The few most powerful people do not care about what is good for the majority of people in their country; they care about what benefits them. Expensive devastations, like the war in Iraq, benefit the people in power even though they may hurt the rest of us. That is what I call the philosophy of government spending.

Thanks,
Scott

No, The United States had Just Cause as a higher stratification of probable cause of hegemony. The United States invaded Iraq because NASA led their projects into a deficit of leadership. The United States forgot to recognize the Van Allen beats dilemma and the Pentagon was perverted by the invention of the he pager and palm-pilot. There really was weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, iran, and Russia. The weapons of mass destruction were left over communication hubs and kaleidoscopes. The kaleidoscopes were probing Iran and producing radioactive materials to power the communication hubs that aided the construction of the International Space Station.
