I mean there has to be rules in order for there to be an inequality there has to be a set of laws that are being broken there to be an inequality according to the logic of those who think that there is gender inequality.
And it has to remain the saim untill now and if not then it is incoherent to look at life and decide to say that there's an inequality

I agree that they are distinct concepts but I think they tend to conflict more than they compliment each other. We see that in the attempts to address disparities (i.e. the pursuit of equity) when it actually works against equality of opportunity (e.g. affirmative action.)

There is no reason to suppose that when there is equal opportunities open to different groups within society that it will lead to equal outcomes. There are too many other contributing factors.
