Hi, Christopher Sublett,Christopher Sublett wrote: ↑August 21st, 2023, 8:27 am What was the most difficult or challenging part to become an author when writing In It Together ?
Thank you for your question.
In It Together is actually my fifth book, so I didn't become an author with it.
Perhaps the most difficult part for me was to stop working on it and put it out there.
Even after I had the first few rounds of beta-reading, proofreading, and editing done, I found myself making significant edits every time I proofread it--not to fix errors, but to make significant additions or changes.
I realized at that rate I would never get the book released.
So eventually I decided to not read it cover-to-cover again until after it was published.
Perfectionism is the enemy of getting things done, as some say.

In other words, the hardest part for me was letting go of the desire for it to be impossibly perfect before release.
Thank you,
Scott

Re: Eckhart Aurelius Hughes AMA (Ask Me Anything)
Hi, jeminah28,
Is it possible to provide some more details and context for your question?
In any case, may I ask if you are having trouble describing and/or explaining the problem to yourself in your own head?
One tip I might offer would be to test out private journaling.
Private journaling can be a great middle-ground between (1) keeping the thoughts, descriptions, and explanations in your own head versus (2) sharing them with others in writing or verbally.
For example, if I was preparing to write a speech (or book) that I was going to say (or publish) publicly to others, often I'll start by jotting down some notes on paper that I would never share with anyone, not that anybody besides me would understand them even if they did see them. That's both because they would be incoherent scattered half-thoughts acting more a reminder than a full thought, but also because my handwriting is possibly the worst handwriting you might ever see. Sometimes I can't even read my own notes!

Thank you,
Scott

Re: Eckhart Aurelius Hughes AMA (Ask Me Anything)
Do you think that Autism, ADHD, Bipolar, clinical depression, and other such neurodivergent conditions are a matter of choice?
Or do you think they are conditions that cannot be controlled; ergo stop fighting them, and accept them as they are?
If you think that they are a matter of choosing, what advice or program do you recommend to assist with choosing to overcome them?
If they are something that cannot be controlled, what advice or program do you recommend to assist someone in working to achieve their goals despite the condition?

I'm definitely inspired by your work. In It Together was amazing read I must say. A helpful one. Managing myself, my routine, my work life, my personal life. It taught me everything.Eckhart Aurelius Hughes wrote: ↑September 21st, 2023, 12:26 pmHi, Budding Author,Budding Author wrote: ↑September 11th, 2023, 1:14 am I'm just awestruck.
