This reminds of the saying, "You can't give what you don't have." If what you're after is happiness, which I do believe everyone wants to be happy even unhappy people, then don't look to unhappy people for advice. I agree.

I have noticed such a dinamic so kany times when unhappy people blame others. I have even caught myself doing it and am happy I could actually detect it.

Taking responsibility for oneself and seeking self-improvement are powerful steps toward personal growth and positive change. Recognizing that understanding and addressing one's own challenges require self-awareness and effort is a crucial aspect of personal development.

True happiness and inner peace originate from within, not from external actions or attempts to change others.
True happiness is self-generated and naturally radiates to others, is particularly striking.

I love that mindset, and I would love for more people out there to own this! You are your own savior. Ever since I was a kid, I always disliked being too dependent on another person.

It is true that some individuals who lack inner peace may engage in misguided attempts to help others as a means of seeking fulfillment or escaping their own unhappiness. However, it is important not to generalize this behavior to all people who seek to help others. Many individuals genuinely and selflessly contribute to the well-being of others without ulterior motives.

It's a realization that highlights the importance of self-reliance and empowerment, acknowledging that we possess the agency to navigate our paths and overcome obstacles. While external support and guidance can be valuable, the ultimate responsibility for our well-being and success lies within ourselves.

It emphasizes the importance of prioritizing personal tasks and maintaining one's own "backyard" before attempting to assist or control external situations. This metaphorical advice encourages self-reflection and the recognition of personal obligations as a foundation for a more balanced and harmonious life.

This statement invites introspection and reflection on the dynamics of salvation and agency. It suggests that the search for salvation, whether external or internal, ultimately begins with self-awareness and self-reflection. By looking into a mirror, one confronts their own identity, desires, and responsibilities, acknowledging the potential for both seeking guidance and offering help to oneself and others. It underscores the interconnectedness of individual growth and the collective pursuit of meaning and fulfillment.

By addressing personal well-being, individuals can better navigate challenges and approach helping others with genuine empathy. Balancing self-care and altruism contributes to a more sustainable and harmonious pursuit of inner peace.

True inner peace comes from self-acceptance and trust. It's hard for ppl to make peace a habit, and ppl sometimes dislike their reflection. I hope everyone finds their peace. I've learned that I'm my own savior and understand myself best. Relying on others for solutions to internal problems is temporary. It's important to discover the root of issues for true self-discovery and growth.

I first laughed when I came across this. This is a perfect truth. Sometimes I hold myself from certain things not knowing I'm the solution. Thanks for this reminder.

Those who lack inner peace try to fill that by helping others instead of looking in the mirror. I am a prime example of such a person. I entered seminary, trying to find inner peace. I became an ordained Baptist minister and devoted my life to helping others in my congregations until I burned out after sixteen years and realized that the inner peace I was helping others to find did not exist to me. Now, in my late 60s, I still do not have inner peace. I began to write my painful memoir in 2020, hoping to learn how to define the real me. I am a quarter of the way through your book In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All, which I recently purchased. I am at the part where I recognize myself as the Humpty Dumpty who fell off the fall and asks the question, "How do I put myself back together?" How do I define the real me and find my true self? I am slowing down through this part of the reading to find an answer on how to end my struggle with self-worth and who I am. Thanks for writing this book! I look forward to offering more input as I progress through the reading.

Self-improvement leads to a happier world, enabling us to recognize goodness in others. Taking responsibility for our own happiness and inner peace is crucial, as we have the power to change our situations and find contentment through self-discovery.
