I feel they are the best people to take advice from. Because that way you will know what to avoid to be unhappy. Advice is good , where ever you get it from.

That's true. If you take advice from unhappy people. You will end up unhappy like them . That's the fact.

Unhappy people are the worst people to take advice from. I think they're full of pessimism and eventually want others to become like them.

True happiness, the kind that sticks around, might seem like a mystery to some. But the truth is, it's a choice we all get to make. Sure, life throws curveballs, but you get to decide how you react. Do you let the negativity win, or do you choose to see the bright side?

If a person is unhappy because their loved one has died or left them, and they give me advice for the same reason, I may listen to them. Many people tried to advise me when my husband died, but they had never experienced what I was going through, so I did not listen to them. However, I had unhappy people, who had recently gone through the same experience, and I tended to listen to what they had to say more closely than the others.
I am sorry for what you went through. I understand and agree with what you said as I have also been a victim if loss and met people who were unhappy cos of loss.

I think before taking a step of seeking advice first know the person advising you well... Whether is happy or not he/she must have a genuine reason fir that. This unhappy guy with his reason can give you a very well advise that can help help you from being unhappy like him.

I agree that you shouldn't take advice from unhappy people. Also, someone doing better than you financially doesn't necessarily have "inner peace." Such types tend to give chaotic advice and disregard the mental wellbeing of the person they're advising. All advice should be taken with a grain of salt and tailored to suit one's needs. An uptick in one's finances will definitely improve inner peace, but the pursuit of wealth as an end in itself leaves many people soulless.

Avoiding advice from unhappy individuals can be beneficial because their perspectives may be colored by negativity and bias. Unhappy people may project their own discontent onto others, offering advice that is clouded by their emotional state. Their perceptions of situations and solutions may be skewed by their unhappiness, leading to advice that is unhelpful or even detrimental. Additionally, negative attitudes can be contagious, and absorbing advice from unhappy individuals may contribute to a sense of pessimism or dissatisfaction in oneself. Instead, seeking guidance from individuals who exhibit positivity, resilience, and sound judgment can offer more constructive insights and solutions. Positive influences can provide encouragement, practical advice, and support to navigate challenges with optimism and confidence. By surrounding oneself with positivity and seeking advice from those who exude happiness and fulfillment, individuals can cultivate a mindset conducive to growth, success, and overall well-being.

You make a valid point. When seeking advice or support, the relatability of the person's experience can greatly influence our willingness to listen. If someone has undergone a similar hardship, we may be more inclined to heed their advice, as they can empathize with our situation on a deeper level. Their firsthand understanding often carries more weight than well-intentioned but disconnected advice from others who haven't experienced similar challenges.

I do get your point of view, it's robustly explained. But, if unhappy people were once happy, isn't there a chance that they are able to give proper advise?

I could not agree more. I recently went through a very bad period in life. I found myself listening to the wrong people, a.k.a., unhappy people, and found myself spiraling down. I quit listening to the unhappy advice and found friends who have this inner peace. Their advice and support made a world of difference.

I would say to listen to everyone; you can learn something from unhappy people too. You can learn what not to do! In my experience, some people know all the theory of how to do something but lack the action step. These people can actually be the best advice-givers, despite the fact that they are unhappy because they do not believe in themselves and therefore lack the confidence to put their brilliant plan into action.

While it's true that we're often more inclined to take financial advice from someone who is financially successful, or health advice from someone in good physical shape, it's also important to remember that wisdom can come from the most unexpected sources. People who have faced and overcome significant challenges often have unique insights that those who haven't experienced such struggles might lack.

Unhappy people, as you define them—those who lack "inner peace"—might still offer valuable advice, especially if their unhappiness stems from circumstances beyond their control. These individuals might have learned hard-earned lessons about resilience, coping mechanisms, and the importance of mental health. Their experiences can provide incredibly beneficial perspectives.

I totally agree with you. One should never take advice from people about something they never experienced or had. 'Seek advice from those who've walked the path, not just read the map.' Well said!!

I listen to them most times and I have come to one conclusion that unhappy people and happy people go through same thing just that happy people choose to be happy
