Unhappy people are the best people to take advice in an extreme situation. They are advising you from the point of pain, also telling you not to make the same mistake. The notion above is not correct.

I totally agree with you. I think it depends on the situation of things some people have remorse or regrets from certain experiences and can have valid advice to give to the young ones. I guess people learn from experience these days.

Hmm. This is true to an extent. Unhappy people will base their advice on their indiscipline. However, the people who are most qualified to give advice are those who bear the scar of mistakes. This simply means, they have failed and now a success.

Your take on seeking advice from those aligned with your desired outcomes is interesting. While focusing on positive influences can be beneficial, it's important to consider that everyone's journey is different. There might be value in learning from diverse perspectives, even those of individuals facing challenges. Ultimately, the decision of who to seek advice from is personal and should be based on individual circumstances and goals.

I agree that we shouldn't take advice from unhappy people or individuals who haven't achieved anything through hard work. However, some people may be disappointed due to conditions such as family issues or disputes, and the regrets they bear make them unhappy. From these individuals, we may receive some of the best advice. So, it depends on which condition the person is unhappy. Ultimately, the conditions matter the most.

I fully grasp the wisdom of disregarding advice from individuals who are unhappy, as they lack firsthand experience in cultivating and sustaining happiness. The profound and lasting fulfillment that comes from spiritual freedom is a concept that eludes many, and its existence may even be doubted by some. Ultimately, happiness is a deliberate choice, one that requires a conscious decision to embrace joy, contentment, and inner peace.

I understand the importance of seeking advice from those who have achieved inner peace, as they may offer a stable perspective. However, I don't think we should entirely disregard advice from people who might be going through difficult times. Their experiences and lessons can be just as valuable, if not more so, because they resonate with the real challenges we face in life. Wisdom comes from various sources, and a struggle doesn't invalidate someone's insights.

Sorry for answering questions with questions; it's the African in me. How can you tell if the person you're seeking advice from, especially online, is unhappy?

I simply agree with this statement. Unhappy people might not offer the most constructive or positive advice because their own dissatisfaction can color their perspective. Their suggestions could be influenced by their negative experiences or outlook, which might not be the best guidance for achieving your own goals and well-being. It’s often more beneficial to seek advice from those who are content and positive, as their insights are likely to be more balanced and encouraging.

No unhappy people will see the right thing. they can never give good advice due to their unhappiness. it saves to never take advice at all and remain inactive rather than take advice from unhappy people.

I think there may be cases where an unhappy individual is aware of the source of their unhappiness, but lacks the energy or motivation to make a change. However, if they are sincere, such a person can still offer valuable insights and advice on what to avoid, serving as a cautionary example.

This is profound. Years ago Morgan Freeman said, "Don't take criticism from people you would never go to for advice". This is similar and very truthful. Admittedly, I have taken advice from very unhappy people in the past year and it didn't end well.
