I can't be too sure about this because on the one hand, if I think a certain way, then would I wonder why I previously made certain decisions ? If I have his memories, because I have them will I automatically start thinking like him? If it is the latter then I don't believe I will notice a difference.

I believe you wouldn't notice any change unless you kept your memories alongside mine. If all my memories were transferred without keeping my own past memories, I would essentially become someone else. However, my friends and family would wonder why my personality and memories had changed.
