Having self-discipline means being able to control your actions and impulses. When you practice self-discipline, you can intentionally direct your focus toward positive thoughts and feelings, contributing to a more constructive and optimistic mindset.

In essence, living in the now is an ongoing practice of mindfulness, encouraging gratitude for the beauty and opportunities that surround you at any given moment. It's a way to savor life's simple joys, appreciating the present for what it is rather than what it was or what it could be.

We create good memories and gain wisdom from our past errors. Being present in the moment is crucial too. Meditation aids in staying focused on the now and reduces stress.

I got to understand that happiness can be sought from the inside. The little things matter and seeking public approval will never bring about true joy.

Human Zombies with no feeling of consciousness, I love the description and how it was distinguished. Excellent!

I concurred with the author's perspective on the importance of self-discipline, recognizing that many of us often fall short in this area, leading to a state of mental and emotional numbness, akin to the "human zombies" described in the book. By cultivating self-discipline, we can harness the power to concentrate on uplifting thoughts and emotions, thereby transforming our lives for the better.

The human zombie is akin to a person without control of his future, and does not make deliberate plan to secure one but lives an unpredictable life. It is a very bad state for every human being.

Looking back too much can make us feel depressed as we try to fix things that can’t be changed. Worrying about the future can make us anxious because we can’t control everything. Focusing on the present lets us love ourselves and others without being stuck on past regrets or future worries.
