Vote for the May 2023 Philosophy Book of the Month

If you are able to post in this forum, that means you purchased my book, which also means you almost certainly either read my book will read it.

In return, I want you to help determine what book I will read next.

In a separate nomination topic (now closed), I accepted nominations from you all.

In this topic, I have now created a poll with all the nominations.

The poll will run for two weeks.

I promise I will read whichever book has the most votes when the poll closes. And it will be very next book I will read after the poll closes.

I will also make the book the May 2023 Philosophy Book of the Month, so that we can all discuss it together.

Awareness is ranked rather well (4.3) on Goodreads; I've added it to my "Want to read" list. It looks like he combines all types of spiritualties well.

I voted on the book, 'Awareness', as I feel that awareness is a topic that people have many ideas about, have done many studies on, yet have many to understand. So I think it is important to see what this author thinks and to discuss it among the members of this site.

I have not read any of these books but "I Never Thought of It That Way" could be a book that explores ways to end the huge political divide between MAGA and Democracy.

13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do by Amy Morin sounds like a really good book to read. I am going to put that one on my shopping list. It sounds like it could help me to replace any negative mental habits with positive ones.

I just wanted to ask a quick question about your pen name. Why did you use Eckhart Aurelius Hughes instead of Scott Hughes? Personally, I think the pseudonym sounds so much more philosophical and could attract more readers, as it just seems to have the air of a great philosopher about it. I just wondered if the names are related to you or not, and why you personally chose them?

Women Don't Owe You Pretty definitely sounds like an amazing read, . I may have to read it myself. I was just recently going on a rant that started from me having food poison and my significant other chose to go to work overtime, instead of staying home to help me with the kids while I was feeling bad. Just cause we CAN do it all, does not mean we WANT to do it all. After working, paying and managing bills, doctor's appointments, cooking, cleaning, tending to the kids; where do we find the time to still be pretty? I have an amazing partner who absolutely helps with household things and the kids, but the primary responsibility of household and kids normally (naturally) falls on the woman. After reading the description of the book, I definitlely know that I will be purchasing this book. I definitely appreciate the new generation of women who do not feel the need to conform to gender expectations, such as: shaving body/facial hair, having big boobs or slim waist, etc. After having children, I have had to fall in love with my body not once, but twice. I have a 2 year old and a 6 month old and each time have had to regain love of my postpartum body. This book will be a must read for me as I feel not only is it relatable, but may tell me something I need to hear.

Does the Book of the Month need to be Book of the Day during the month? If yes then it is impossible to vote without knowing the 31 books of the day for May. I would like to see "In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All" as Book of the Day several times in 2023 and Book of the Month at least once this year. If there is a book of the year then it should be included when BOTY voting begins.

I think that each of the Jack Winnick five-book series has been BOTD more than once within the past year so why not the incredible book written by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes?

I can't work out how to vote but my choice would be 'On Her Their Lives Depend: Munitions Workers in the Great War by Angela Woollacott'. We are always being told about the men's role in war, and women are often forgotten, which is why I vote for this book and will be reading it myself!
