_Rhea Jacob wrote: January 1st, 2024, 7:08 pm I personally believe that sometimes if there are absolutely no fights, then getting a point across may be difficult and emotions and thoughts are repressed and the people involved are internally unhappy. I am NOT talking about wars and such but rather a fight between a parent and a child or a couple. Fights can be avoided if there is proper communication but as we are all humans, we often let our emotions take over and say the wrong things.
I think you have answered this question with your mention of proper communication. This is a key component to any peace whether it be parent/child, husband/wife, or country/country.

I find myself on both sides of this issue. There are times when conflict is necessary to establish peace, yet there are instances where fighting becomes the very cause of peace's destruction. I believe there may not be a universally valid choice; a conflict's impact on peace depends on its intention and the greater good it seeks to achieve.

Externally, choosing your battles wisely and opting for constructive dialogue instead of confrontation can lead to more harmonious relationships. Embracing the concept of non-resistance and focusing on what you can control often paves the way for a calmer and more serene existence.

Never stop fighting. You have to fight for your inner peace too. Nothing comes easy.

The problem to me is letting go of the grudge. One may decide to avoid fighting in order to get peace yet the mind is a no. When avoiding the fight to get peace our mind should also be clear.

I agree with this particular comment. There is a level of peace that comes when one stops fighting. It is releiving.

To find peace can be difficult I must say. Keeping silence may lead to more harm to yourself and then acting can lead to harm to others. I think at times we fight to have peace.

I don't think I agree with this statement. A personal practice I've adopted to find peace is not necessarily stopping fights, but avoiding disputes or conflicts at all costs.

I see a lot of people saying you have to fight for peace. How do you find peace fighting and how are U peaceful knowing someone else is hurting? I agree with the author on this notion.

This suggests that inner conflict and resistance often perpetuate turmoil and that peace can only be achieved through acceptance and nonresistance.

This topic seems to be addressing the negative impact of dwelling on past failures and self-criticism. It's true that focusing on the present and progress can be more empowering than dwelling on the negative.

Drawing parallels with biblical teachings about the timing of events, it suggests that fighting is sometimes necessary for the greater good, with peace being the ultimate goal. It argues that a peaceful life does not mean the absence of conflict, but rather that peace is attained through the recognition of one's capacity for conflict.

To stop fighting sounds like giving up to me. Although life is an endless war, we should strive to do anything possible as to make sure we achieve a peaceful mind.
