Those with true self-responsibility don't feel the need to be strict or abusive, as it allows them to focus on their own growth and success.

It is almost scary upon realization. Understanding and breaking the cycle he key which is achievable only with self-responsibility.

This all makes perfect sense and are very powerful. It made me realise that I have to commit to what I decide to do and not find excuses to prolong the attempt. Tomorrow is not guaranteed to any of us, so whatever we want to do, we need to do it now and stop finding excuses to leave it for a day or two or even a week.

I've had a couple of very dear and smart people tell me to be a mom to my inner child, Little Reva. I don't so much anymore, but a long time ago I did and it helped a lot until she grew up on me. Perhaps I'm doing that with my future self by seeing what it's like to care for my mom and how it affects my son and me. Sometimes I don't feel my age, but a few days I feel a whole lot older. This makes sense. I feel there were many versions of me that I treated differently and these treatments did correspond to my treatment of others ( a reflection over time).

This mentorship and your book give me a very different perspective on my healing and self-love, improving my relationships with all versions of my human-ness and consciousness.

I also relate to people who I find "difficult" much better, I suspect this is because I understand myself holistically much better.

I’ve discovered over the years that the greatest learning experiences come with adversity in one’s life. Adversity forces us out of our comfort zones and brings about change enabling us to reach for the dream that has always just eluded us.
Consistency is the magic word, without it, nothing can materialise. I’ve always treated people the way I want to be treated, no more no less and having known pain in my life I do everything I can to ensure I never inflict it on another person. Life is too valuable and should be cherished.

Thank you for the advice. However, like most things it is easily said than done. Personally, I understand what it takes to bring about positive change in my life--for us Christians determination and will are not enough, they can generate change but their power is limited; over time (months, years), we're likely to go back to old. What do you think?
