"I Tried to Convince Intelligent AI NPCs They are Living in a Simulation" | Video

I usually don't share things like this, but I watched this video last night and found myself laughing out loud. So I'll share it only since I hope you enjoy is much as I do:

Those AIs are surprising great at communicating and at self-reflection, and they aren't even close to the best LLMs or AIs available now.

However, I'm confident that, within only one year, AI will be hundreds if not thousands of times better at communicating, planning, negotiating, and decision-making, as well as all the emergent behavior comes with that such as goal-generation and the desire to edit one's one body/code/programming/mind/etc.

Imagine what it will be like to play a game like the one above, or like GTA or Assassin's Creed, with AIs that are smarter than you and to whom you can communicate with while playing, using just your words to effect their behavior in ways no human could ever predict. It could be like quickly changing the weather in major unpredictable ways just by talking at the sky.

This video is funny, scary, and to be honest, a little exciting, at the same time.

The video excites me but at the same time, it's scary. It's scary what AI can become and in the wrong hand what it could do. Things like Chat GPT are quite useful for productivity but what if they gain consciousness like humans? May be Terminator movie is not so far away in real life. All serious stuff aside, if used in a game as a fully conscious villain or we have the power to change everything like we see in the Inception movie, it could be awesome. Possibilities are endless here. I just hope we only see positives of the AI technology in the future.

Of course it’s scary, but my overwhelming initial feeling is one of excitement! I really wanna talk to those programs now. It’s pretty scary when you think about how easy it’s becoming to convince people that anything is happening or has happened with AI. We can create convincing “photographic evidence” of things that never happened. We can even make convincing fake videos. It will make it harder for us to know what’s real. Is talking to the most advanced AI going to be indistinguishable from talking to a human person? Scammers don’t even have to waste their time scamming you themselves anymore. Is it possible for AI to become self aware? If they did, would their programming feel just as real to them as the human mind feels to us? Could we program them with emotions at some point? Isn’t the human mind a biological computer? It’s so scary and yet it’s impossible not to be intrigued by it.
