I am sorry if the next paragraph is partly morbid, but I take my wild hypothetical illustrative examples to the extreme only for simplicity and clarity, so there's no doubt about how simple and flat-out these truths are.

If circumstances arose such that the only way to save my kids, or the best way to help my kids, was to take a bullet for them and breathe my last breath in this form, I would do it happily with a smile. I would take a bullet, and bleed, and die, with a smile, a sincerely happy smile. Even if you can't literally smile with your mouth, you can smile with your eager loving spirit.

When you can HAPPILY sacrifice any amount of comfort or safety, and HAPPILY endure any amount of pain, fear, and discomfort, then you know the invincible inner peace and heaven of which my book speaks. That is true love.

In some ways, you don't truly live until you find something worth dying for. In some ways, you don't ever experience true spiritual joy until you feel it while feeling great bodily pain, fear, temptation, and discomfort. But when you do, you have found the invincible transcendental joy and invincible inner peace of which there is an infinite supply.

You don't need kids to have it or find it. You don't need a romantic partner. You don't need siblings or a roommate. The quote about true love in the image below from my book is actually, in its original context in the book, much more about your relationship with your selves over time (i.e. older and younger versions of the human in the mirror), versus others in space such as family members or romantic partners.

Many people struggle to have a truly loving relationship with the human they see in the mirror, which includes both the past (i.e. younger) and future (i.e. older) versions of that human. Many are in a cyclical toxic self-abusive relationship with the human they see in the mirror and the older and younger versions of that human. But you don't have to be. Even if you are the only human on Earth, you can choose to act from true love and only true love. You can find yourself, your true self. You can manifest yourself, your true self. You can actualize yourself, your true self. And, when you do, you will see that what you manifest and actualize is love, and you will thus see that you are love.

That force of love that seems like a divine light fighting to work its out of way is you, the real you. It's you more truly than anything is you. It's what you, the real you, are.

With love,
Eckhart Aurelius Hughes

The lines "You can manifest yourself, your true self. You can actualize yourself, your true self. And, when you do, you will see that what you manifest and actualize is love, and you will thus see that you are love." are heart-touching.

What a profound and deeply moving reflection! Your words beautifully articulate the essence of selfless love and the journey towards discovering inner peace. The idea that one does not truly live until they find something worth dying for is a powerful testament to the depth of human emotion and commitment.

Your exploration of love not just as an external expression towards others but as an integral part of one’s relationship with oneself is especially insightful. It's a reminder that true love and peace begin within, in how we perceive and treat ourselves across different stages of our lives.

Your post also serves as an important reminder that love transcends the need for external validation or relationships. It's an internal force, a divine light within each of us, waiting to be acknowledged and embraced. This perspective is empowering and liberating, offering a pathway to true self-actualization and fulfillment.

Thank you for sharing such a profound excerpt from your book. It resonates deeply and encourages introspection and self-discovery in the pursuit of authentic love and inner peace.

Self-love, an intricate dance of acceptance and appreciation, blooms from within. It's a nurturing embrace, a symphony of kindness directed inward. It's about honoring flaws as brushstrokes of uniqueness, cherishing strengths as beacons of resilience. It's finding solace in solitude and relishing the journey of self-discovery. Self-love isn't a destination but a continuous pilgrimage, sculpting a sanctuary of compassion and forgiveness. It's setting boundaries, saying 'no' without guilt, and saying 'yes' to nourishing the soul. It's celebrating imperfections and embracing vulnerability, knowing that within this embrace lies the seed of unshakable resilience, nurturing a garden of self-compassion, growth, and authenticity. I thank God for I learnt self love early and am always focused on me.

I totally agree with what you are saying. I would say that 90% of parents would gladly take a bullet for their children. You can never find a more pure and total love of a child than that of a parent. The problem that I am having is the looking-in-the-mirror part. As you age, you look in the mirror and don't recognize yourself. It's hard to love yourself when you are going gray, your hair is thinning and the rest of you is wrinkly.

This is such a beautiful piece. I'm yet to experience this kind of love, and if I ever do... I'm hoping it's worth it. Loving someone true and true is something rare in our world today.

Thank you for this beautiful post. Indeed, true love has a transformative power that goes beyond superficial emotions. It encompasses acceptance, genuine care, and an unselfish commitment to another person's well-being. It's a beautiful sentiment that highlights the interconnectedness of self-love and the ability to spread love to those around us.

This perspective resonates deeply with the idea that true love involves a willingness to sacrifice for the well-being of others. The notion that experiencing spiritual joy amidst pain and discomfort unveils a profound inner peace aligns with the concept of transcending challenges. It emphasizes the importance of fostering a loving relationship with oneself, embracing both past and future versions. How does this resonate with your own beliefs about love and sacrifice?

The concept of "You are love, and we are one" reflects a belief in the interconnectedness of all beings and the transformative power of love. It suggests that at the core of our existence, there is a universal force of love that binds us together. Embracing this idea invites a deeper understanding of oneself and others, emphasizing empathy, compassion, and shared experiences. By recognizing the essence of love within ourselves, we may foster a sense of unity with the world around us, fostering positive connections and a harmonious existence.

Your words resonates with the real-life wisdom that genuine fulfillment often comes from selfless acts and a deep connection with oneself. Choosing love over comfort and fostering a compassionate relationship with oneself can indeed lead to a profound sense of inner peace and purpose.

wholeheartedly concur with your points. Ninety percent of parents, in my opinion, would cheerfully take a bullet for their kids. A parent's love for their child is the purest and most unconditional love a child could have. The portion where I gaze in the mirror is giving me trouble. You don't recognize yourself when you look in the mirror as you get older. When your hair is thinning, your skin is wrinkled, and you are starting to go gray, it can be difficult to embrace who you are.

Unfortunately, true love is not easy to attain. How many can happily sacrifice any amount of comfort or safety? Not many. But we can continue to work to attain this level of inner peace.

I always enjoy the topic of love whenever it is discussed. From my own perspective, I think real love and true love are the same because when you say you truly love someone you will do anything to make that person happy and better.

This writing really hits home the idea that love means being willing to do anything for the people you care about, even if it means facing tough times or sacrificing your own comfort. It also reminds us that loving ourselves is just as important as loving others. It's a powerful message about the strength and beauty of love in everyday life.
