This is for those who think they are unhappy because they are too poor or not quite rich enough yet...

What if I told you that your nasty attitude causes your lack of success, rather than vice versa?

Money doesn't buy happiness, but true happiness (e.g. practicing radical acceptance of what you cannot control, practicing consistent daily gratitude, and being an actually pleasant person that people like to be around) buys money and gets you huge success in all sorts of fields.

You might be surprised how well you can play the cards you're dealt once you stop wasting ANY of your very limited time, energy, or resources counter-productively bitching about them, with a huge miserable frown or an angry resentful yell, or a clingy jealous ungrateful off-putting desperation, with your very presence to other people feeling like a dark rainy cloud.

Your miserable bitching and frowns are contagious, and the person most infected by your own contagious wasteful impoverishing misery is the person you will be tomorrow and then the day after that.

True happiness is a mindset built on habits. You can't win it at a casino. It costs nothing and you can only give it to yourself, or choose not to. But once you choose to have it, to give it to yourself, nobody can take it from you. That's why I call it invincible inner peace. You can end up as a prisoner in a Nazi concentration camp, and you'd still have it. It's that damn invincible. It's that damn powerful.

My entire political philosophy summed up in one tweet.

"The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master."

I believe spiritual freedom (a.k.a. self-discipline) manifests as bravery, confidence, grace, honesty, love, and inner peace.

This is a powerful perspective, and it resonates with the idea that our mindset and attitude significantly shape our experiences and outcomes in life.

That is all so true about everything. I know people who have nothing but are happy about life and everything around them. Then I know people, like my neighbor, who is always complaining about something and calling his lawyer. You come into the house so depressed.

Absolutely, your point hits home even more with a personal example. One of my friends lost everything in the 2004 Tsunami, a situation that would understandably break many. But his response was remarkable. He remained positive and grateful for what he had left, which was contagious. Despite starting from scratch, his radiant attitude drew people towards him, creating connections that eventually led to his financial recovery. It’s a living testament to how a positive attitude, even in the face of adversity, can open doors and lead to success in unexpected ways.

Personally, this philosophy resonates with me. And I will always remember your quotes in times when my happiness is shrinking. Thank you for this eye-opening note.

I like this concept. I feel that being a good person and having happiness can make you successful, for many reasons. You are successful because of your happiness but can also be successful in your career because you find the good in your day-to-day. I like the idea that having gratitude and radical acceptance can make you happier. These are not things that can be bought but are just within you. If you cannot find happiness based on what you do daily, you cannot find or buy happiness when you are rich.

The relationship between money and happiness is complex, and while financial stability can contribute to well-being, true happiness often involves factors beyond wealth, such as relationships, fulfillment, and personal growth.

Focus on being happy and positive. Your attitude can shape your success more than your bank account. Appreciate what you have, and others will appreciate you too. Happiness is free and within your control—it's the ultimate power. I wish alot of people understand this.

Thank you for sharing your perspective on happiness and success. You believe attitude and mindset play a significant role in one's overall well-being and achievements. You emphasize the importance of practicing radical acceptance, daily gratitude, and being a pleasant person to be around.

While it's true that cultivating a positive mindset and adopting constructive habits can contribute to personal growth and fulfillment, it's also important to recognize that individual circumstances vary greatly. External factors, such as socioeconomic conditions, systemic barriers, and access to resources, can significantly impact one's opportunities and outcomes.

While attitude and mindset are within our control to some extent, it's essential to acknowledge that systemic inequalities and external challenges may pose barriers that cannot be overcome through positive thinking alone. It's important to approach discussions on happiness and success with sensitivity and empathy, considering the diverse experiences and contexts of others.

Promoting personal agency and resilience is valuable, but it's equally important to address systemic issues and work toward creating a more equitable society where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive. By acknowledging the complexities of individual circumstances and societal structures, we can strive for a more inclusive and compassionate understanding of happiness and success.

Thank you for sharing your perspective, and may we continue to explore these topics with an open mind and a commitment to understanding the diverse experiences of others.

Indeed, money doesn't buy happiness. If you are in touch with your spirit, you will be happy and money will be the byproduct. For example, I was in a job in which I used to get tortured so much that money didn't matter anyway but since I have started to write for a living even though initially I am not making much money my spirit is pleased and eventually I will make much more money in the long term. I am at much more peace now.

Living is a product of mindset. I agree with true happiness being a mindset that can flood your life with success, even wealth. Our lives roll around our convictions and mindset. Nothing that happens to us can change, it's an inner choice.

Happiness often hinges on perspective and attitude. Gratitude and a positive focus contribute to well-being, while a constant focus on complaints may hinder happiness, regardless of circumstances.

Your contentment makes you successful, but you can also succeed professionally if you look for the positive aspects of every day life. I enjoy the notion that radical acceptance and thankfulness might lead to a happier life. These are things that are only found within you; they cannot be purchased. You cannot buy or find happiness when you are wealthy if it is not something you can obtain from your regular activities.
