Absolutely, your point hits home even more with a personal example. One of my friends lost everything in the 2004 Tsunami, a situation that would understandably break many. But his response was remarkable. He remained positive and grateful for what he had left, which was contagious. Despite starting from scratch, his radiant attitude drew people towards him, creating connections that eventually led to his financial recovery. It’s a living testament to how a positive attitude, even in the face of adversity, can open doors and lead to success in unexpected ways.

A person who is content naturally possesses a positive and optimistic mindset, capable of envisioning remarkable achievements and eventually drawing wealth. It's a beneficial outlook to have.

Money buys happiness to an extent. Is it not better to be sad and be able to make everyone else happy with the money you've made.

This is a philosophy that I personally find appealing. And when I start to feel less happy, I will never forget your quotes. I appreciate your enlightening message.

Concentrate on being joyful and upbeat. Success is more shaped by your mindset than by your bank account. You will be appreciated by others if you are grateful for what you have. Happiness is the ultimate power, and it's free and within your control. I hope that many people are aware of this.

I don’t really agree with this. Money would get you a lot of things that would make you happy but when you can’t afford to live then you won’t be happy at yourself cause you lack money

The book certainly criticizes the idea that external achievements, such as wealth, can bring lasting happiness and describes this pursuit as the "hedonic treadmill," where individuals continuously chase after material gains, believing they will eventually find contentment, but never truly achieving inner peace. However, I think this idea is counterintuitive.

For short, I'd rather have money and I'll work on my happiness later. To me, it's better to be depressed with a million in my account than to laugh with 0 balances. I also think it's easier to create scenarios that make you happy when you have money.

This is for those who think they are unhappy because they are too poor or not quite rich enough yet...

What if I told you that your nasty attitude causes your lack of success, rather than vice versa?

Money doesn't buy happiness, but true happiness (e.g. practicing radical acceptance of what you cannot control, practicing consistent daily gratitude, and being an actually pleasant person that people like to be around) buys money and gets you huge success in all sorts of fields.

You might be surprised how well you can play the cards you're dealt once you stop wasting ANY of your very limited time, energy, or resources counter-productively bitching about them, with a huge miserable frown or an angry resentful yell, or a clingy jealous ungrateful off-putting desperation, with your very presence to other people feeling like a dark rainy cloud.

Your miserable bitching and frowns are contagious, and the person most infected by your own contagious wasteful impoverishing misery is the person you will be tomorrow and then the day after that.

True happiness is a mindset built on habits. You can't win it at a casino. It costs nothing and you can only give it to yourself, or choose not to. But once you choose to have it, to give it to yourself, nobody can take it from you. That's why I call it invincible inner peace. You can end up as a prisoner in a Nazi concentration camp, and you'd still have it. It's that damn invincible. It's that damn powerful.

I agree that money doesn't buy happiness, but I'm afraid I have to disagree that happiness can get you money.

Absolutely! True happiness is such a game-changer in life. By staying grateful, accepting things as they come, and spreading positivity, we not only feel better ourselves but also draw in success and good things. Our attitudes and how we act really shape our journey to happiness and achievement.

This is so true. There are people with money who are not happy with their lives and find it difficult to sleep and have peace of mind. On the other hand, some people don't have money but live a happy life being at peace with themselves and their environments.

Many times I have heard the saying that happiness is a choice and I have never truly understood that saying until recently when I met someone that was had true happiness but was not financially stable. He found happiness in serving God and being with his family.

HAPPINESS. The fruit of the soul. How you feed it determines the longevity of the happiness. I cannot define what brings happiness. And I don't think we can have a feeling of satisfaction, either good or bad, that can be bought. Unless you define it. Many things cannot be generally defined. You cannot buy happiness, even money cannot, but money can contribute to making you happy. Agree or disagree, is your choice of definition. Remember, the definition of everyone's happiness depends on him or herself. :!:

I agree that our experience of invincible inner peace and happiness attracts money and success at its culmination point. The vice versa is not true. True happiness comes from unconditional self-worth. It costs nothing and we can only give it to ourselves, or choose not to.

Wow. Just wow I am glad that this author sees my perspective on happiness. I was just making a post earlier on how happiness should be sought from the inside and not from external sources
