For me, I've always been overall accepting of what "past" me did. As we know, what's done is done! Though I still inwardly cringe when awkward memories come up.
The change has been how I approach choices as it relates to "future" me. It's really helped shift my mindset and be more successful in working towards my goals. For example, I joke that one of my hobbies is stress-eating. But now when I'm dealing with stress I stop and think about my options. Instant gratification would temporarily boost my current mood, but it would be an act of love to future me if I don't eat the cookie/candy/whatever so that future me isn't stressing about losing more weight.
Has anyone else experienced this mind shift?
