"Yes, I know that many women voted for Trump and it's easy to see that many women too have swallowed the bait of the macho messiah."
Trump was reared by a strong mother as well as the men in his life. Trump had strong wives that were intricate to rearing
strong children. Trump is well aware of the need for a balance of good men teamed with good women. I am proud to say
I voted for Trump. I am also proud to say I did not vote either time for Obama.

You should be held personally responsible for the damage he will do to the country since his character and blatant disregard for this country are abundantly obvious. The evidence is available to anyone who cares to see it.Misty wrote:I am proud to say I voted for Trump.
Shouldn't a person's vote be their right, but more importantly, be held personally responsible for it?

Obviously not as extreme as that. It just reminds me of it.

Re: New president of US
I think his dog whistles resonated with many people, he latched onto their disillusion and disaffection and rather than offer policies, he mostly offered people to blame, and himself as the solution. And a rejection of a sort of way of thinking about their society which didn't sit well with them. Out of touch self-serving Elites, Political Correctness and Identity Politics which felt like it positioned them as the baddies, a loss of pride in themselves, their identity group, and their country, as special, or at least normative.
All that can resonate very strongly with people, evoke tribal instincts and so on, so you don't concentrate on actual policies, you vote for Your Guy who understands you and your concerns, and will 'do the right thing' for you. He gets it, he won't call you 'Racist!' because you're worried about immigrants taking your job, bringing down wages, he tells it like it is!
But most of all they voted for change. They felt alienated, left behind. Like they were the ones being left out of the new narratives of what America is, should be. And crucially weren't feeling the way things were going would bring them and their kids a better life. More secure, , prosperous, confident and respected.
Clinton they saw as offering more of the same, part of the problem. She basically acted like a responsible grown up politician, and treated people like responsible grown ups, explained the complex realities and offered realistic practical solutions, which didn't look much different from the way things are. Trump was promising change. Jobs, prosperity, security, self-respect. Everything you want. Just leave it to me, Daddy will make it all better. So why not vote for him, give him a chance.

Misty, do you agree with the Trump administration that the religion of Islam is a cancer?
I think the Trump administration believes that some form of the Islam religion has taken on a radical murderous view
NOT shared by most Muslims, and to this, I agree.

Given that he has labelled 2.7 million american citizens as part of a cancer, I wonder what we can expect of him? In the recent past in another part of the world, an ethnic groups that was regarded en masse as a threat was required to make their ethnic origin known with stars sewn onto their clothing. Perhaps a crescent moon would be more appropriate here? Or perhaps more modern methods.

He wrote a book on radical Islam. I don't think he is after the peaceful Muslims.

He seems to have a problem with Islam as a whole. If I were a Christian and somebody told me that my religion (not a group of radical violent people, but my religion) was a political ideology and a cancer, I would take that as an attack against me. Wouldn't you?
People have killed in the name of Christianity. Does that mean that Christianity is a cancer? It is generally agreed that cancers have to be wiped out, isn't it?
