Purpose of life?

life is binary with major aspects of two elements balancing each other. there is always an opposite to one and the only unique property they carry cancel to another unique part. though irregularities may exist on each planes, we can only consider on the probabilities of their respective domains. such like day-night; light-darkness; fire-ice; soft-concrete; yin-yang; the fundamental aspect of creation are the vibrations. even the light particle frequencies on binary aspect.vocal chords resonate at binary frequencies and every other elements corresponding to the atom itself vibrating on its axis balancing both parts to obtain stable configuration. so taking fundamentals existing in nature, we can observe that the balance is crucial to survive or maybe the most concrete truth of creation.nothing exists on its own, even like the concept of soul energy associating with physical body to ultimately create the natural way of living structures. where one depends on the other. in the bigger picture, we notice that in life; an infant is born with progressive thinking capacity and use of the physical body, the baby needs to learn to speak, walk and progress to an apex in the centre of the axis of life. like a man in his primes is at optimum physical conditions which again recedes to the old age. the picture we get to see is that the life is balancing itself as in a graph with the start from zero; reaching an apex and then decreasing to zero which very much satisfies the fundamentals of balance we see everywhere. but on the contrary, we see that the mind is evolving every second and the apex can be considered at the end as its learning new things, new situations which never reoccur in its time. time is eternal and always progressing and like the body which isnt proportional to the time path; we see the knowledge totally proportional to time increasing every moment. but as nature observes, balance is inevitable so can it be like lifetime of knowledge perceived by one relates to the apex at death and starts decreasing in the latter part? or that death is just a transition and life is just the time or the test to knowledge or what we can say as 'consciousness'. ?or the purpose is to really awaken how conscious can we get to facilitate an apex on a higher position so that the next phase is longer on the axis as the hypotenuse in the triangle will be longer with the higher apex at the transition. ? please comment; just a new thought in mind and please ignore any beginner mistakes.

Logically I can only agree with existential nihilism. There is no data to support the notion that life has any purpose or meaning.

I think the purpose of life is for everybody different. There are 7 billion humans on earth , each has it's own definitions and life guidance rules. So there are 7 billion different purposes for life existent . But there is a sociological component , the society imposes a own definition of "purpose" and with it there are additional purposes of life. But life itself is either a biological , chemical , physical process or something that embeds physical existence into a philosophical background. This embedding is somewhat different for everybody as well as perception and mind is and with it the defintion changes.

If that were to be true, why does "life" cling to stay alive? With such logic, I don't see any "reason" (double entendre) that we shouldn't pick a random date in a calendar for a global "ecstasy party" culminated with a blissful "Good Bye World" of "fireworks" of mutually assured nuclear self annihilation.

Does this count as "data"?

Because the life that didn't cling to stay alive died. And the life that did cling to stay alive passed on the tendency to cling to stay alive to its offspring. But you know that.

Maybe a past civilisation did just that? And that's why they're not here now. We are descended from a long line of creatures who did not do that.

The reason why you don't want to do it is because your parents didn't.

The question at hand Steve, is whether there is a "Purpose of life?"

If we claim that there is no purpose, then it doesn't matter what we do because everything is "meaningless" and "purposeless" and we'll all die anyway sooner or later. Therefore, with such logic, there is no "reason" for any laws or any type of system of cooperation. Since we're "rational" beings capable of understanding that we're just a "random" occurrence in the universe, without any purpose, then it shouldn't matter what we do. Yet, we act "irrationally" in the social organization, as if there is some purpose. So, either we are really irrational beings or there is some purpose.

As discussed already in another thread:

onlinephilosophyclub.com/forums/viewtop ... 31#p295031

If we take the view that purpose is something that we choose to create for ourselves and is not something that we inherit from the wider universe then the only question is: can such purpose in beings such as ourselves emerge from a universe in which it didn't pre-exist? The answer to the question of why we choose to carry on living and doing things in a universe which doesn't act like a big person (with purpose) is that we have our own purposes to occupy us.

YES, there is a purpose for existence.
I have said a couple of times that individual man is created enshrined with his existential make-up, which drives all that he does. It governs all aspect of his life, it injects thoughts into his mind and drives his intelligence. The eventual essence is to unlearn the fallacies of this world and realize that although things (man, plants, and even heavenly bodies) appear different, they share similar primordial basis and purpose. This might take more than a lifetime.

Be careful what you wish for. This saying worked for several times in my life, that's why I believe that the most important is to focus your thoughts and will on the important things, like health, family, self-development. Small bot strong will for revenge or to be a winner in the miserable contests only get your vital energy
