Has anyone here seen an alien or an UFO for real?
But I have an elderly distant family member, a teacher lady far from sci-fi or supernatural realm, who spoke to us very privately of an experience back in the '90s of an UFO sighting, and never went out of family with it being afraid of ridicule.
There are a lot of us here, various backgrounds and age and observation opportunities. All anonymous. CMDR XYZ. No one will investigate you, make reports for your employers or superiors, it won't affect your promotion nor will question your sanity.
So, does anyone here have a real life UFO/alien story?

Re: Has anyone here seen an alien or an UFO for real?
I seen so many UFOs (unidentified flying objects), that I wouldn't bother crossing the street to see another.
Now....have I seen alien spaceships? Not so much.
I have seen ball lightning on a few occasions, I've seen spotlights from car dealerships projecting on low clouds, and so on. I tend to pay attention to the sky, as I'm an amatuer astronomer and a published science fiction writer.
I actually suspect a lot of UFO reports are caused by automated drones.
I believe (note that I said "believe", and not "know") that a lot of alien spacecraft are actually classified drones being tested, developed, and refined by the U.S. military.
Weaponized drones are (and have been) being used--as we speak--in Afghanistan, Iraq, and so on. Drones reduce the human presence on the battlefield--thus reducing friendly casualties--and can gather intelligence.
The government practiced mock attacks on American cities in the Cold War, and an actual live nuclear weapon was once dropped in South Carolina by accident.
I would expect a military drone to be quiet, stealthy, capable of rapid twists and turns.....which are all qualities that seem to be exhibited by so-called alien spacecraft. Also, I think any drone wreckage would have government agents showing up to collect the debris....and telling civilians--under penalty of imprisonment--to keep their mouths shut.
If any of this sounds familiar, it's the Roswell alien crash all over again where remnants of a radar balloon (from project MOGUL) seem to be remembered as debris from a crashed flying saucer.
I don't know this for a fact, but this scenario seems much more likely to me than visits from aliens.
