I need help with my skepticism

Chat about anything your heart desires here, just be civil. Factual or scientific questions about philosophy go here (e.g. "When was Socrates born?"), and so most homework help questions belong here. Note, posts in the off-topic section will not increase new members post counts. This includes the introductions and feedback sections.

Look terrapin, if you are serious about this, you must realise by now that Descartes wrote in Latin and that dubito does not mean the same as the English 'doubt'. When reading avmbout skeoticism and doubt, this is referred to as Cartesian doubt, to signify the difference with regular doubt. Your sources do so. If there is no mention of Descartes when soeaking of skepticism and doubt, you are reading an imprecise source.

If you need my help with any of that, and you did, you shoukd, instead of asking for help, sit down and think about what you could have investigated yourself, without me.
The saying that what is true in theory is not always true in practice, means that the theory is wrong!

Why aren't you capable of quoting something from Descartes that you believe implies that doubting that P amounts to affirming that not-P? You can quote it in Latin if you believe that will help. You want to convince me? Quote.

Or quote anything from anything else that I cited. But quote something. Otherwise you're wasting our time.

I did quote it many times. Look, I am going to stop this. You are unwilling to help yourself to improve. Using regular doubting is close. It will help you to a point.

I'm not going to help you any further. You will have to help yourself.
