Do you feel stressed at work too?

Chat about anything your heart desires here, just be civil. Factual or scientific questions about philosophy go here (e.g. "When was Socrates born?"), and so most homework help questions belong here. Good for you, so you prefer working from home than going to the office physically?

Its an hour drive to the office. Since I only go in once per week now I get eight hours of my life back every week. Also - if I'm really beat tired and can't focus I can take a 20 min power nap. A lot of things from that perspective work. As for having hours creep it's what would have happened anyway - just that it would have happened after an hour drive home rather than getting an extra hour of work done.

Fewer people and a lot more time spent metaphorically standing around the water cooler1 chatting and joking about how terribly the government is doing with Covid and Brexit and how shocking it is that the Arsenal might get relegated at the end of this season.

1Literally standing around the water cooler is considered too dangerous these days.
Whaaat? Arsenal is going to be relegated? Gosh, the world really is changing.

I found work stressful, even when it was relaxed, with a great team and bosses. I'll start a list. I'm sure others can find stressers to add:

Commuting in peak hour.
Dressing semi-formally.
Early morning starts in winter.
Having a boss per se.
Ultra conservative organisational policies.
Ambitious people with minimal scruples.
Photocopiers.
Fluorescent light.
Cold aircon.
Can't play music.
Sitting inside on a nice day.
Grocery shopping when everyone else is shopping.
Driving when everyone else is driving.

That was a comment from several months ago. A long time in football. I don't follow it closely, but I don't think Arsenal are in danger of relegation now. My son supports Spurs and they haven't been doing well. They sacked Jose Mourinho as manager and there are rumours that they might lose Harry Kane. Personally, the only football team I've ever supported is Ipswich Town (due to where I grew up) and when I tell people that it always provokes either sympathy or ridicule or both. Even local rivals Norwich City are better than them these days and their main backer is a former celebrity chef.

I know little about the English league, but Arsenal is one of those famous clubs like the Manchester teams, Liverpool and the Spurs.

Is there anyone here that feels the same somehow? I wonder how you have handled such stress and anxiety so far, and at the same time maintained your collectedness at work?
"too"????
I do not feel stressed at all.
