Well, intelligent is a relative term, so intelligent compared to what? If you think humans don't qualify, I am dying to know what you you think does.BelieveNothing wrote: ↑May 1st, 2021, 5:31 am Rumour has it that there is intelligent life on this planet, but have you ever seen any? And how would you know if it was intelligent or not? Apparently humans have a nasty habit of messing things up more than fixing things. If an alien learned english and then posted on this forum then how would we be able to know that they were not human if they didn't want us to? Or an artificial intelligence fot that matter. I'm keeping this post short because I've got lots of reading to do and I'm running out of excuses...

I'm not saying humans don't qualify, I'm not trying to imply that I've never met an intelligent life form. I didn't think 'intelligent' is a relative term, but I guess it could be interpretted that way.Well, intelligent is a relative term, so intelligent compared to what? In an ideal world, intelligence would be prevalent and used diligently, so I guess im asking for a comparison to an ideal? Who knows? Maybe if I check the clock I will find it is the hour of the bored jester?

I was a little sarcastic, naturally the idea that humans would be the intelligence example on planet earth makes sense. Though a human lamenting the general lack of intelligence, smacks of an implied personal exemption.BelieveNothing wrote: ↑May 1st, 2021, 2:10 pmI'm not saying humans don't qualify, I'm not trying to imply that I've never met an intelligent life form. In my experience, the ability to process data (intelligence) is less important yet more common than understanding why we process data (wisdom).
