There are several modern-day financial incentives to advocate for determinism or more specifically, to denounce a 'belief' in free will. Some 'questionable' products of science depend on determinism to have a mere chance to survive.LuckyR wrote: ↑November 2nd, 2021, 1:16 pm11% say there's no Free Will, eh?Consul wrote: ↑November 2nd, 2021, 12:44 pm "Results from the 2020 PhilPapers survey, with responses from nearly 1,800 philosophers (mainly from North America, Europe, and Australasia), to questions on a variety of philosophical subjects and problems, have now been published."

(2021) The clockwork universe: is free will an illusion?
A growing chorus of scientists and philosophers argue that free will does not exist. Why would they do so?

2. Big Pharma + psychiatry intends to replace the criminal justice system to secure further growth and has been quite successful in making progress on the basis of questioning a 'belief' in free will.
