It is better to experiment here than in the middle of a philosophy discussion. I also hope that someone else benefits from this strange little thread too.Belindi wrote: ↑February 16th, 2022, 9:02 am
It may be different if people are using it computer with a mouse. The thing is it probably varies how it appears on the screen depending on what devices are being used. That is because I was writing on a tablet at one point and everything appeared differently
If you've already block quoted a reply you'd have to type /quote (between the [ ] brackets) where you want the first chunk of the quoted text to end.
Then type quote between [ ] before the new block of quoted text, ending that chunk with /quote between [ ]. And so on.
I've made it sound more complicated than it is, but if you have the [ ] keys on your device it's easy really. Just type quote between those brackets to start the quote, and /quote between those brackets to end it.

Even that is not too difficult. A 'quote' box is easily done. Just type the text that follows, but surround it in square brackets.JackDaydream wrote: ↑February 15th, 2022, 7:41 pm A couple of people had queried why I was not using that format of replying and I thought that I would have to be able to draw an actual box in my reply.
quote="Pattern-chaser"
<my text would go here>
Then you type (again, with square brackets around it) this.
/quote
If you did all that, your final post would look like this:
And, presumably, your reply would appear here. HTHPattern-chaser wrote:

Thanks to Belindi's help I am now able to quote boxes as she pointed out how I could do it so easily, whereas I thought that it would be complicated. I am hoping to start chopping up boxes in my replies but waiting a bit in case I make a mess of it.Pattern-chaser wrote: ↑April 6th, 2022, 4:54 pmEven that is not too difficult. The one thing which I have tried to do is create links but haven't managed this yet. I think that it may be due to the software on my phone. I will get a new one at some point but getting a new phone can be so stressful. Besides, if I go into a shop most of the staff probably don't use forums, so it would be a bit difficult to find out what the different phones can or can't do on this site.
