Per Rule G of the Forum Rules, you simply need to use the Report button to report the posts.
My entire political philosophy summed up in one tweet.

"The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master."

I believe spiritual freedom (a.k.a. self-discipline) manifests as bravery, confidence, grace, honesty, love, and inner peace.

Catalina Isabel wrote: April 13th, 2023, 4:36 am Thanks so much for having me here. I'm looking forward to some great discussions! I was wondering if some posts are locked for new members? So we can read but not reply? I've come accross quite a few of these instances but have only been here a day so far. If that is the case, then it would be great to be able to know which topics new members can engage in.
Thanks in advance!
To post in the Book of the Month forums, you must have purchased and read at least one Book of the Month. If you purchased at least one Book of the Month, please forward the receipt to me, and I will give you access to the Book of the Month forums. You can email the receipt to me at:

Hi Scott, thanks a lot for your help with this. I was able to join and participate, but now I've changed my email and it's no longer linked to my OBC email address. I'd appreciate your help linking this account to my new email if possible.

Thanks for that, Scott.

While you're here, would you mind responding to my earlier query:

Warnings can be issued by a moderator when the Forum Rules are violated. They are usually only issued when a post is deleted for violation of the Forum Rules, and sometimes when a post has to be disapproved from the moderation queue a warning will also be issued.

The most common violation is some form of personal attack or ad hominem argument or other rude off-topic remark.

I'm not surprised at all that you have never even once been warned about such a thing, Pattern-chaser, despite having over 6,000 posts. Thank you for being a member. :)

Mate, this comment just hit me in the right spot. Laughed very heartily. Thank you for a good start to the day!

Yes, provided Scott's offer still stands, and I think it does. Purchasing one book, and forwarding a copy of the receipt to Scott, will make you a 'Premium Member'. But you don't need to buy a book if you simply wish to post here...?

Welcome to the forum, Monishka!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY. -A ZOMBIES PHILOSOPHER IS A PHILOSOPHIER WITHOUT CONSCIOUSNESS. -A PHILOSOPHER IS SOMEONE WHO SEEKS TRUTH AND WISDOM. MY QUESTION: IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE A PHILOSOPHER WITHOUT CONSCIOUSNESS PLEASE? THANK YOU SO MUCH.

How does one post? This is quite a confusing site.

Hi, semisane, and welcome!

You post just as you did with the above. The easiest way is to use the quote key button, that appears above every post, on the right-hand side. The button shows the double quotes character: "

Click the quotes-button on the post you wish to reply to. It's that easy.

I would have responded to the thread about major rule changes but I do not have access to it. I have written a response in the 'Where Have All the Forum Users Gone' and don't wish to duplicate it here. I believe that Scott may have ruined his site and be doing it more and more, even though from his point of view he thinks that he is making it so much better by making it mainly about his work, although, of course, as the owner, he is entitled to use it in this way. If you are interested in my fuller response , please see the this in the one I mentioned and, I am interested in others' views being expressed and heard too. I believe that Scott could benefit from some dialogue with people who have been contributing to the site other than the circle of his book followers. We are not all bots and have a genuine human passion for philosophy.

I don't think that the offer of buying one book does stand any longer. Also, I am not sure whether premium members even get access to the 'In It Together' section, or how long the offer of buying the book entitles one to premium membership. He has posted a link to buy from online sites but it all seems so complicated.
