How do you respond when vengeful, spiteful forum users attack you personally for your philosophical positions? You claim to strictly control this forum, but in light of the recent personal assault against me, I do not see any evidence that you actually follow this policy.

Per Rule G of the Forum Rules, you simply need to use the Report button to report the posts.
My entire political philosophy summed up in one tweet.

"The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master."

I believe spiritual freedom (a.k.a. self-discipline) manifests as bravery, confidence, grace, honesty, love, and inner peace.

Catalina Isabel wrote: April 13th, 2023, 4:36 am Thanks so much for having me here. I'm looking forward to some great discussions! I was wondering if some posts are locked for new members? So we can read but not reply? I've come accross quite a few of these instances but have only been here a day so far. If that is the case, then it would be great to be able to know which topics new members can engage in.
Thanks in advance!
To post in the Book of the Month forums, you must have purchased and read at least one Book of the Month. If you purchased at least one Book of the Month, please forward the receipt to me, and I will give you access to the Book of the Month forums. You can email the receipt to me at:

Hi Scott, thanks a lot for your help with this. I was able to join and participate, but now I've changed my email and it's no longer linked to my OBC email address. I'd appreciate your help linking this account to my new email if possible.

Go into the Forum where the topic listings are and click on NEW TOPIC in the upper left corner, or click on POST REPLY to reply to a previous post. You have to put in a title when posting a new topic.
Thanks to your suggestion, I think anyone can start a new post. I value your comments.

Thanks for that, Scott.

...

While you're here, would you mind responding to my earlier query:
Pattern-chaser wrote: April 22nd, 2023, 7:50 am I note that, in the recent past, some contributors have accumulated 'warnings'. I would like to know under what circumstances I might be given a warning ... so that I can avoid getting one, of course. 😉 I'm sorry if this question has been answered elsewhere; if it has, I'm not aware of it. TIA
Thanks.

Warnings can be issued by a moderator when the Forum Rules are violated. They are usually only issued when a post is deleted for violation of the Forum Rules, and sometimes when a post has to be disapproved from the moderation queue a warning will also be issued.

The most common violation is some form of personal attack or ad hominem argument or other rude off-topic remark.

I'm not surprised at all that you have never even once been warned about such a thing, Pattern-chaser, despite having over 6,000 posts. Thank you for being a member. :)
