No notification emails.

Post by Harbal » April 4th, 2015, 2:10 am

I have stopped getting notification emails for the topices I'm subscribed to. I've gone through all the settings and they all seem OK. When this sort of thing happens to me it usually turns out to be my fault but I've checked everything I can think of.

I assume you have checked your junk/spam folder, right?

Do you get any email notifications from the site at all, such as email notifications of new PM messages?

Interesting, I have never received an email saying I have new PM messages.

I used to get them but everything stopped about a week ago.

I have sent you a test email from my home computer to see if you get that.

If you get that one, then there will be more tests to follow to troubleshoot where the problem is.

I am sorry about the email issue.

Harbal and Misty,

Can you each go the the following page of the control panel:

http://onlinephilosophyclub.com/forums/ucp.php?i=174

...and make sure "Notify me on new private messages:" is set to "yes".

Then, once you have confirmed that, I will send you each a test PM.

I realize this topic is about notifications of replies to topics on the forum, but this will help identify that it is a problem with general emailer and not specific to the topic emails.

Okay, I sent you a test message to see if you get an email notification of the new PM.

Can we have email notifications of all deleted posts please? Fanman has been deleting posts on his I am God thread without notification so we can't know what material has been removed.

Okay, fair enough. I don't care about the deleted posts as much as just people being notified of the removed content.

It should be said that it's difficult to provide evidence of deleted content when you can't anticipate which posts will be removed, especially in a long thread.

I'm still not getting any notification emails. Should I just try to get used to it?

I changed my email address and it fixed the problem.
