Discuss Moral Tribes
What do you think of the book? Would you recommend it to others? Why or why not? On what points do you agree with Greene? On what points do you disagree with Greene and why?
"The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master."
I believe spiritual freedom (a.k.a. self-discipline) manifests as bravery, confidence, grace, honesty, love, and inner peace.

Re: Discuss Moral Tribes
If reading the book is a requirement for commenting, I'm out. So, if you can supply his thesis and perhaps an argument or two, I might be interested in the issue. From what I tell, it looks like a brain scientist discussing how moral decisions are made. I'm not sure how neurological study shows right from wrong. It sounds like moral psychology, which appears to deny the existence of free will, and hence the existence of morality itself.Scott wrote:Please use this topic to discuss the February 2014 philosophy book of the month Moral Tribes by Joshua Greene.
