Hello everyone
I found this forum after the mind-blowing epiphany that I needed to type "philosophy forum" into Google to find other like-minded individuals to discuss matters with. It only took me 10 years to have this revelation. Phew!
About me...
I would characterize myself as a polymath with a wide range of ecclectic interests, hobbies, talents and pursuits accompanying an unconventional lifestyle. Rather than describe them all, I'll just say, "I'm in love with a mystery I don't understand", is the best way I could describe what drives my inquisitiveness, endless learning, contemplation, and my inclination toward philosophical and spiritual subject matter.
In terms of my philosophical leanings, if I had to classify them I would say that I have strong leanings toward stoicism, realism, pragmatism and nondualism. These are informed by life experience and scholarly assessment. Politically, I am a centrist/moderate. However, I give fair consideration to almost anything that is thoughtfully conveyed and because of the aforementioned "mystery" I don't feel 100% certain about anything.
By profession, I work and study in medical. I have multiple degrees in medical and health science related studies, including conventional and complementary medicine. Personally and professionally, I have seen a lot of the world, a lot of life and death, a lot of things that defy conventions, and I'm a deep thinker/feeler.
I'm looking forward to interacting with this community and to having my way of seeing supported and respectfully challenged. Cheers!
