Because I need to be sharper

Hey! I took a break from joining forums for a while; I wouldn't be as involved and eventually let my membership lapse. And the forums I joined were pretty juvenile and I no longer have any interest in returning.
But a mentor of mine recommended joining some political or philosophy forums in order to get better at crafting/rebutting/responding to arguments. I was always a **** debater in school, and just wrote myself off. I realized later on that there's "competitive debating," and then there's true argumentation, and getting at the topic honestly, intellectually, with no time for grandstanding. Thought I'd give it a shot and sharpen myself with some smart folks
Interests are, of course, general philosophy, but more specifically: ethics, religion, the arts, and so much more, but those three are what came to mind immediately. Thanks!
