Seasons Greetings
I hope you are all well and are making the most of the festive season. My introduction to philosophy is the legacy of a long-term sympathy with Communism and trying to come to terms with my own disillusionment with that movement because it responsible for so much suffering. Despite my better judgement, I continue to have sympathy with that belief system, though I hope to develop greater maturity in evaluating it's claims and in understanding the moral questions it raises as a challenger to the norms of our current, essentially capitalist, society. My greatest interest in philosophy is naturally related to politics and ethics, but I am also partial to looking to the nature of knowledge, science and truth.
I am not sure how active I will be here on the forum, but I none the less hope I will be able to contribute to some enjoyable and productive discussions.
Merry Christmas.
