The Philosophy Forums at OnlinePhilosophyClub.com aim to be an oasis of intelligent in-depth civil debate and discussion. Topics discussed extend far beyond philosophy and philosophers. What makes us a philosophy forum is more about our approach to the discussions than what subject is being debated. Common topics include but are absolutely not limited to neuroscience, psychology, sociology, cosmology, religion, political theory, ethics, and so much more.
This is a humans-only philosophy club. We strictly prohibit bots and AIs from joining.
Please post all introductions in this forum. Tell us how you found the philosophy forums, what interests you about philosophy, and a little about you, such as your age, where you live, what you do for a living, etc.
I just wanted to thank the team of moderators for creating a space for intelligent expression and discussion. I have never spent much time on any forum or social media. Other than cards chat. The little time I have spent on facebook recently, due to the extra time I have spent at home in the recent couple years. I have been hard pressed to find decent conversations. I was in need of intellectual stimulation and literally searched my browser for intelligent discussion on philosophy, psychology, and physics. Which is how I found this forum. I prescribe to a vast number of ideals and philosophies. Which I am proud to say are constantly shifting slightly. From the Hermetic Order to Marxism to The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. I find truth even in the most contrasting ideas. I find comfort in the polarity and duality of all that is. My most idolized philosophers have been Nietzsche, Marx and now Hegel. So you can certainly see a constant. However I am a deep practitioner of mindful breathing meditation and believe in a singular universal conscious. I look forward to some healthy friendly debates with anyone looking to defend the institutions of our time or whatever the topic of the day is.
