I had no idea such a thing called K-Pop or Korean Pop existed. Shows how cosmopolitan I am when it comes to music :| . Although, I did know about Gangman Style of course.

The only non-English music I ever really listened to I think was Brazilian Bosa Nova primarily, and a little bit of Spanish speaking songs from out of Mexico (more pop) and maybe a little rap out of Puerto Rico. Oh... and Shakira.

But that makes sense. If one is not normally exposed to something, there's no reason to think one should be familar with it. The only reason got into J-Pop & K-Pop is because I lived in San Francisco for 10 years and had many Japanese, Korean, Lao, and Chinese friends.

In any case, here's more songs that I find philosophically inspirational:

Nova (Shine Your Light) -- VNV Nation

Answers -- Namnambulu

You're The Answer -- Iris

I appreciate some new ideas for music.

I suppose it depends on what stage of life I am in, as to what songs/music inspires me philosophically. Currently:

Misguided Ghosts, Paramore (We endlessly search for what we think we want... & life is short, almost like a dream.)
With Or Without You, U2 (So many paradoxes... Especially regarding illusions - we need them, but they can be a source of pain.)
I Want To Live, John Denver (Life needs to be respected more than it is.)
A couple with no lyrics... but still plenty to express! Beethoven's 9th
Shindler's List Theme
“Empty is the argument of the philosopher which does not relieve any human suffering.” - Epicurus

Really enjoying some of the suggestions. Thought I'd give a few of mine.

Songs by Nick Drake - Specifically Pink Moon, Things behind the sun, Day is done, Time has told me and River man

Most songs by Keane - some good ones are Bad dream, Love is the end, Frog Prince and Particularly one called Atlantic which has this lyric 'I need a place that's hidden in the deep, where lonely angels sing you to your sleep, Though all the word is broken

Seasick Steve - Fallen off a rock

The National - Conversation 16, Fake Empire, England, Mistaken for strangers

And also a song called On days like these by Matt Monroe. I think it was the title song to the film The Italian Job.

I am attuned to the famous song; "As Time Goes by" created by Herman Hupfeld in 1931. It has been sung by a variety of artists and was featured in the movie; "Casablanca" ..... "it's still the same old story, a fight for love and glory as time goes by" ............... None us consented to be born, but were in a sense thrown into the world and into the fight for "love and glory" Philosophy is the attempt to figure out the meaning of the term love and the term glory. And it is wise to have understanding that everyone else is in the same situation and to have empathy for them.

Airhead - For Years - Wait, Autumn, Knives, Electronic Explorations, Pyramid Lake

Not since Pink Floyd's - Dark Side of the Moon, has such originality been achieved on one record. This record creates a whole new category of music that has never been heard before. They use sampling like sampling has never been used before.

Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. ~Bertrand Russell

"Return To Innocence" by Enigma. (Not so much the lyrics, but the unique vocals and imagery in the music video.)

"In The Name of Love" by U2.

"The Mission" by Ennio Morricone (entire CD).

Underground hip hop shows raw emotion, is un-edited and expresses the real life experiences that so many take for granted or chose to ignore.

One of my personal favorites is "The Persistence of Loss" by Nine Inch Nails. A friend showed it to me one time during a deep conversation. It's an instrumental song entirely on piano, but it's beautiful. I'll just play it over and over until I'm completely in the zone.

In the past few days I have been enchanted by ' Bye Bye Blackbird' as an integral part of the film 'The History Boys'. Also accompanying the courtesy titles of the same film the fantastic voice and rendering of 'Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered ' sung by Rufus Wainwright.
