No KathyD has never reported the results. Although even if she did it would be pretty meaningless.

I was wondering what happened if her objective of excising the nerve-rich tissue from the penis did have the desired result and this organ is no longer the central source of his sexual stimulation.
I imagine that her son will still be able to find stimulation visually by watching porn while masturbating firmly and rapidly using lubrication. The resulting orgasm would be more of a somatic response, probably brief and weak, but still achievable. And this seemed to be the only thing that mattered in this case.

re; 'even if she did it would be pretty meaningless', I agree that knowing more about his current situation would not add much. I cannot imagine what might happen in the future...

circumcised people have orgasms just like non circumcised people. circumcision has negligible effect on anything to do with sex.

But when I watched porn I noticed that circumcised males use rapid and long thrusts to find stimulation. (This also suggests that penis length is more important if you have been desensitized.) And KathyD claims sex is dramatically better with her uncircumcised partner.

Also, KathyD said she didn’t want him to be giving the girls at his school the same sort of toe-curling vaginal orgasms she is getting.
I think this has long been understood. Moses Maimonides (1135-1204) said; “The Sages have explicitly stated: It is hard for a woman with whom an uncircumcised man has had sexual intercourse to separate from him.”

In this area, anecdotes rule (thus anyone can get a quote to say anything).

In a way what you are saying is that all the varying points of view on this subject have already been touched on here and elsewhere ad infinitum.
And KathyD mentioned this plethora of viewpoints at the beginning of this topic.
In American popular culture circumcision is considered to be a health issue and it is therefore plausible for KathyD to say;

“ I would hope that we'd all agree that, regardless of how you feel about circumcision, it's certainly a parent's right to circumcise (or to not circumcise) their child. Until of legal age, parents are morally and even legally responsible for the welfare and actions of their children, so obviously they should have the right to make basic decisions concerning their welfare.”

So, because masturbation, and perhaps not having to wash, are now considered to be medical conditions it is lawful for parents to have this surgery performed on minors.
What I would like to know is whether or not males had the problems that circumcision now 'cures' before we got modern plumbing, and everyone could have a daily shower. (Before that the general population was lucky to have a bath once a week.)
Also, the concerns about public health that many in the medical profession in the U.S. seek to alleviate by circumcising do not appear to be as big a problem elsewhere. Are they prevalent in Europe where circumcision is rare?
If they are not, how do Europeans deal with the concerns that KathyD so extensively and intimately expressed and sought to remedy in the way that is as old and popular as corn flakes. (Of course, the U.S. not alone in this; Muslims are into surgical modification of their genitalia too and many seek the 'benefits' for both sexes.)
When we argue this phenomena our differing viewpoints mean that many of the 'things which are obviously true' appear to be so to those on both sides of the discussion. I have, therefore, to agree with your sentiment that it does seem to be rather futile at this time.

Yes this is the problem. Anyone using an evidence and reason based approach to belief can simply look up the facts whereas everyone else is left believing whatever they wish immune from such trivialities as evidence. Forums in particular seem like a horrible place to educate as, it seems to me, most come to express their views rather than to learn other's views.

I would not know if he is actually masturbating more or less. But I have not found any porn on his computer or cell phone since. :D

Hi Kathyd

I spent time reading this thread in detail, including all the comments. It was upsetting, traumatic and eye-opening to read about your beliefs and your son's experience of circumcision.

As I child, I was put through a similar experience of circumcision to your son, although I was two years older than him when they did it to me.

My mother, ultimately influenced by my highly religious grandmother, held off circumcising me as a baby in favour of doing it when I was older. The reasons for this and the surrounding mental and physical abuse I suffered while growing up were confusing and affected me both physically and mentally. It's only recently that I've been able to start talking about my abuse and my circumcision with a trusted friend and that has allowed me to understand many traumatic events which felt jumbled and random, and to connect those into a pattern of physical, mental and sexual abuse which lasted many years.

Central to this was the unwavering religious belief held by my grandmother and my mother that my penis was "dirty" and that anything related to my genitals was considered to be "bad" and a sin.

As an adult, when I looked back I could never understand why I had not been circumcised as a baby, but by talking about my experiences I now believe that I was circumcised as I turned 13 because for many years prior, my "sins" and "dirty" foreskin were used as an excuse to abuse me.

I was not in puberty when I was circumcised, but like your son I was cut in a way that was designed to remove as much of my skin as possible and leave me with no skin movement and to force the maximum desensitization possible. I believe the age I was circumcised (which was described by my mother at the time as being "the right time for it to be done") was deliberately chosen as the age when I'd likely be starting puberty and was designed to discourage, limit or prevent my ability to masturbate normally. Essentially, preventing me from "sinning".

My circumcision is very "low", with the entire inner foreskin removed and the scar sitting right below my glans. Worse though, is that my circumcision is extremely tight. I was left with no skin movement and with my glans permanently exposed (causing drying of the skin and loss of sensitivity over time). My frenulum was also removed as part of the procedure and I believe that the scarring I'm left with around my penis is more visible than it should be.

I was shocked to read about your son's nerves being severed. While I have no evidence this was done to me, I have a noticeable lack of sensation on the glans of my penis and find difficulty reaching orgasm so I can only assume I suffered this part of the procedure as well.

Unlike your son, I felt no pain during the circumcision procedure (although I was awake throughout). However, my recovery was also excruciatingly painful for several weeks after the operation was done.

I understand that your beliefs are important and I know that circumcision in the USA is considered normal, simple and pain-free. But the pain, trauma and suffering your son endured will affect him. It affected me.

You said that one of your aims was to limit his ability to masturbate. From my personal experience, I know that you succeeded.

I had a similar circumcision and this was the result for me.

Hi SMUK44, re. 'one of your aims was to limit his ability to masturbate.'
It does seem that Kellogg and Kathyd are correct in their belief that the removal of erogenous tissue by circumcision makes masturbation less pleasurable and rewarding and, for the same reason, heterosexual genital intercourse also.

Hi Kate

I think that’s true (although I hadn’t started masturbating when I was circumcised, so I don’t have a “before” and “after” comparison.

The only thing I can confirm is that the aggressiveness of the circumcision is what makes a difference. A lot of skin removed, the more sensitive inner foreskin removed and the frenulum removed all contribute to restriction of the ability to feel pleasure.

Circumcision is a primitive religious practice, which were it not for the fact of tradition would NEVER have emerged as medical practice.
It has been foisted on the American public by Jewish doctors (initially), and promoted by a medical profession obsessed with making money by fleecing the public by thinking of as many little procedures as can be imagined by hospitals trying to squeeze another dollar out of an ignorant exploited, vulnerable public.

Jusifications rarely apply and are generalised ad hoc inventions seeking to reduce masturbation in the early 20thC, but have persisted to avoid drops in revenue.

Do NOT mutilate your child.
