I believe that the part of my existence which makes me who I am is my mind and my soul. If I retain these and just wake up in a completely different body, I would like to believe I would still be me.

If you liked the opening question in my book In It Together, then you may like this question too, which ties into some of the other themes in the book:

Imagine a few minutes from now you suddenly wake up as an alien in a humanless world, realizing that you had only been dreaming you were a human and that humans were merely a fictional creature that you had dreamt up while sleeping. Would you still be you, the real you?
An interesting concept but I’d argue you are still you. Your existence as you knew it might have changed but the essence of what makes you, you is still there.

We change all the time and we adapt to times and seasons. If I woke up as an alien a lot of things would be different from what I used to know it to be especially since it's a human-less world. The things I felt were right may not be same and the ideals I held may be meaningless. As an alien I would be a totally different person with different viewpoints.

This question is similar to the one in the opening part of the book, and my answer is that I would still be me in any world.

I believe I would be because the consciousness has an energy. If we are to believe reincarnation, it's our consciousness over several life cycles until we break the wheel of life. We would be different people, but the consciousness is still the same.

This question provoke deep thought in me, and I like it.

I will like to answer this question from my understandding and conviction about the truth in the dream realm. In the dream realm, our memories and past experience is carried along while we sleep. And any encounter you come across, you will address it with who you used to be—your knowledge and earthly experience in Ihe physical realm. Secondly, in the dream realm, we appear as aliens and we possess some power, like power to do things that have been impossible for us to do in the physical realm. We can instantly make things happen by just wishing. It is a wishing land, where just wish becomes reality.

Therefore, if I should found myself in this side of human world, explained above, I would still be me with all that is me. But, I shall possess power and ability I don't have in the physical realm/world. I will be able to make things happen. If I had wished to fly in my physical world, dream realm is an opportunity to fly. If I had wish to have sex, that is an opportunity to do so, etc.

Yes, I believe I would still be me if I woke up as an alien and realize my human life was just a dream. Indeed, the real me had the dream, and everything that was in the dream as human was fabricated by me and my consciousness. If I wake up as an alien, I will not be human anymore, by my personality traits, my desires and wishes, my fears would still be from 'Me'.
Afterwards, living as an alien will probably bring different experiences, I will change to adapt etc.
But that precise moment when I wake up to find that I am an alien and the human life was just a dream, that person who just woke up is still the same Me.

Yes, I think I would still be me. Because even the body and the outer are not the same, it is possible that my soul would still be there. My memories, my soul, my character, the way I think, the way I talk, maybe all of those would be still the same even I am an alien.

I think that in that case I would not be me but a kind of copy of the real me.

This question reminded me of the movie The Truman Show. Everything this poor guy believed in turned out to be just a coulisse put up by others. At the movie's end, he walked out of the door to the great unknown. But he was still the same guy. I suppose this story could be juxtaposed with waking up from a dream of being a human. So, my answer is, yes, I believe I would still be the real me.

I have a crazy imagination, but this one is beyond crazy. What exactly will one do in a human less world? As for me, if I woke up as an alien, the first thing I would do is to to explore the ocean. I'll explore the deepest parts, and eat deep see creatures. Hahaha

I will explore the depths of the earth. I will fly high up in the sky to see something more surreal. One thing I have a fascination for is the waters. So I will probably explore the deep. There wouldn't really be much fun though. It will be boring with no humans. Maybe before I sign off, I will create something immaculate, like a wonder, so that when the humans come back, they will be utterly surprised, but will not be able to trace the originator.

If this was to happen, I believe I would unconsciously start implementing certain characteristics and norms I displayed as a human into my alien lifestyle. I would be scared to wake up in a human-less world because my life as a human is all I know. To awake from that dream state in a world filled with aliens could be shocking.

I agree. The outside "shell" may have changed but my soul/spirit/life essence would still be the same.
